Terms of Use

Last Updated: 7 July 2026

These terms govern your use of the SEN Help website at sen.help. By using our website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

SEN Help is a trading name of SEN Help Network Ltd (company number 17277924, registered office 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF). Contact: hello@sen.help

What SEN Help Is

SEN Help is an independent online directory built to connect parents of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) with independent professionals, including SEN advocates, Educational Psychologists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists. Every professional must pass our verification checks before their profile is published. Verified means we have checked identity, qualifications and regulator registration where one exists; it is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or approval by any regulator. Until verified professionals are listed, the directory and matching service are not yet active.

SEN Help is not a law firm, not a medical provider, and not a regulatory body. We do not provide legal advice, clinical assessments, case management, or representation. We are a directory and introductory routing service.

For Parents

Our directory and matching service are free for parents to use. When you submit a Get Matched request, we share your name, email address and brief description with up to 3 verified professionals in your Local Authority area only if you have given your explicit consent on the form at the point you submit it. That form consent, not these terms, is what authorises the share, and you can withdraw it at any time as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Any engagement, contract, or fee arrangement is strictly between you and the professional you choose to instruct. SEN Help is not a party to that relationship and has no liability for:

  • The quality, timeliness, or outcome of any professional’s work
  • Any fees charged by a professional
  • Any Tribunal, mediation, or assessment outcome
  • Any advice given by a professional found through this platform

We strongly recommend requesting an initial consultation and reviewing a professional’s terms of engagement before instructing them.

For Professionals

By applying to join SEN Help, you confirm that:

  • All information provided in your application is accurate and current
  • You hold valid Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • You hold an Enhanced DBS check
  • Your HCPC or SRA registration (where applicable) is active and in good standing
  • You are qualified to practise in the UK

You agree to notify SEN Help immediately if any of these conditions change, including if your regulatory status is suspended or revoked, if your insurance lapses, or if a complaint is made against you to a regulatory body.

SEN Help may suspend a professional’s profile without notice, and remove it after giving the professional notice and a chance to respond, where we receive or discover credible evidence of misconduct, misrepresentation, a breach of these terms, or serious professional failings on work obtained through SEN Help, including conduct their regulator would treat as serious misconduct. In urgent safeguarding cases, or where a regulator or the law requires it, we may remove first and consider the professional’s response afterwards. The Professional Partnership Agreement sets out the full process.

Subscriptions and Payments

Professional subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to recurring monthly charges at your selected plan rate until you cancel.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months.

For digital products purchased by parents (such as the SEND Parent Booklet), our money-back guarantee applies on the conditions set out in our Refund Policy. See the Refund Policy for what qualifies and how to request a refund.

Accuracy of Information

SEN Help takes reasonable steps to verify professional credentials and to ensure that Local Authority data published on the site is sourced from official government publications. However, we do not guarantee that all information on the site is complete, current, or error-free.

Local Authority Report Card data is sourced from the DfE SEND2 Survey and the SEND Tribunal Annual Report. Data is updated annually when new publications are released. Between updates, some figures may be outdated.

Intellectual Property

All content on sen.help, including text, design, logos, graphics, and code, is owned by SEN Help or its licensors and is protected by UK copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any content without written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use such as printing resources for your own SEND meetings.

User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose
  • Submit false information on any form
  • Attempt to access restricted areas of the site, including the WordPress admin
  • Scrape, copy, or harvest data from the directory for commercial purposes
  • Impersonate any person or professional on the platform

Limitation of Liability

SEN Help is not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using the site or, where your claim concerns something you bought from us, when you bought it.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing in these terms takes away your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in relation to digital content (such as the right to a repair, a replacement, or compensation where digital content we supply is faulty or damages your device because we failed to use reasonable care and skill) and in relation to any paid service we supply (such as the right to have the service performed with reasonable care and skill, and money back up to the price you paid where it is not).

Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the site is limited to the amount you paid to SEN Help in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

Third-Party Links

Our site may contain links to external websites, including professional websites and government resources. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of those sites.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms where the law or regulatory guidance changes, for security or safeguarding reasons, to reflect changes to our services or prices, or to correct errors and improve clarity. The “Last Updated” date at the top shows the most recent version. For material changes we will post a clear notice on the site, and email you where we hold an address for service messages, at least 14 days before the change takes effect; other changes apply from the date we post them. Changes do not affect purchases you have already completed or rights you have already built up. If you do not agree with a change, stop using the site; if you have a paid subscription, you can cancel as set out in the Refund Policy and the change will not apply to you before your cancellation takes effect.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and you keep the protection of any rules of law there that we cannot contract out of. For professional subscribers, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
